Yes. A valid referral from your GP or another specialist is required before we can offer you an appointment.
Your referring doctor can email or fax the referral directly to our practice. Once we receive it, our team will triage the referral and will contact you to arrange an appointment.
We do not offer online bookings. A valid referral is required before an appointment can be offered. Once we receive your referral, our team will contact you to arrange an appointment.
GP referrals are generally valid for 12 months (Unless otherwise specified by the referring doctor).
Specialist referrals are usually valid for 3 months.
Waiting times vary depending on specialist availability and the urgency of your referral. Our team will contact you as soon as we have reviewed your referral.
If your referral is marked as urgent, we will prioritise it where possible. Please ensure your referring doctor clearly indicates the urgency.
Our fees vary depending on the specialist and the type of consultation. Full fee details will be provided in your appointment letter once your booking has been confirmed.
You can contact the practice by phone on 8298 9025, however due to the high volume of enquiries we receive each day, we encourage patients to email our admin team on admin@samedicalspecialists.com.au for a faster response.
We are a private practice and do not bulk bill. However, some specialists offer reduced fees for patients with a valid concession card.
Please advise our reception team when booking if you hold a concession card. If you are experiencing financial difficulties, you are welcome to discuss this with your specialist at your appointment.
At the time of your appointment your specialist will send you an SMS text message with a link to join the video consultation.
