Speciality: Geriatric Medicine
Dr Ruchi Saxena started her medical career in 1994 in India and has gained extensive multinational experience in the holistic practice of medicine and geriatrics over the past 25 years, of which more than 10 years of those being spent in SA across various health networks. Dr Saxena commenced Basic Physician training at St George Hospital Sydney and continued thereafter in Royal Adelaide Hospital, Lyell McEwin Hospital and Flinders Medical Centre, working in various specialties. Dr Saxena then completed her advanced training in geriatrics along with Diploma in Palliative Care in 2019, having worked in multiple sites (CALHN, SALHN, NAHLN, GEDI and community palliative care at QEH). Dr Saxena is currently affiliated as a consultant geriatrician with SALHN and works at its various sites including FMC, NHS, Repat and visits Strathalbyn hospital for both inpatient and outpatients services and has also recently joined SA Medical Specialist, commencing her Private Practice.
Dr Saxena’s expertise includes acute, subacute, perioperative, community geriatrics in various settings and palliative end of life care in elderly, her passion in geriatric practice is to optimise healthy ageing and improve quality of life.
